Description

Learn Vietnamese With Annie is a self paced app built around Southern Vietnamese, especially the kind of everyday speech you hear in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta. It works well for beginners and lower intermediate learners who want guided listening practice instead of a game style app.

The lessons use short fictional dialogues, then break them down in Vietnamese and English line by line. You also get vocabulary review audio, transcripts with English translation, and follow-up exercises. On the official subscription page, Annie says subscribers get access to more than 1000 lessons across levels from complete beginner to advanced, with new lessons added twice a week.

What makes it useful is the focus on real Southern speech, which is still hard to find in many Vietnamese apps. The tradeoff is that this is mostly an input and study resource. It helps a lot with listening, vocabulary, and sentence patterns, but it is not the best fit if you want live conversation practice, a strong speaking feedback system, or Northern Vietnamese content.
