Description

Drops is a mobile app for learners who want short, low-pressure Vietnamese practice. It focuses on vocabulary and common phrases rather than full language study, so it fits beginners well and also works as a supplement if you already use a course or tutor. If you want something you can open for a few minutes a day and keep your habit going, this is the kind of app it is.

The app teaches through fast visual exercises, matching games, native-speaker audio, and review tools like Favorites, Quiz Mode, Dojo, and Word Collection. Drops says Vietnamese is one of the available learning languages, and the Google Play listing for Vietnamese says the course includes more than 1700 words across 99 topics. There is also an AI-powered Speak Practice feature in Drops that lets you repeat words and compare your pronunciation to a native model.

Where it works best is building recognition, recall, and listening for everyday words. The free version is quite limited, with 5 minutes of study every 10 hours, while Premium removes the time limit and lets you choose topics more freely. The main tradeoff is that Drops is still a vocabulary-first app. It does not give you much grammar, sentence building, or real conversation practice, so most learners will need another resource alongside it.
